who is Jesus?

Jesus is God's son. He is also a spirit and lives in Heaven. He came from Heaven to earth to be born as a baby. Jesus had to be born as a baby to give His spirit a body so that he could live like us, and the people at that time could see Him like a normal person.

God also gave Mary a husband called Joseph to help her take care of Jesus as a baby.

Because Jesus is the son of God, he was different to all other people in that he never did anything wrong. Never told a lie. Never fought or argued. Never took anything that wasn't His. Never did anything that He shouldn't have done.

Can you imagine that?! Have you ever done anything wrong? Of course you have, because all people do things that are wrong - doing wrong things is called sin

Jesus knew that the only way that people could have their sin taken away was if a perfect person took the punishment for everyone's sin. Doing things wrong (sin) needs punishment.

Because Jesus took all the punishment for the sin of every person in the world, you can now have a perfect relationship with God, as if you had never done anything wrong!

who is God anyway?

God is a spirit. That means that he doesn't have a body like you and me, and you can't see or touch him.

Even though you can't see God, He is everywhere. You know that the wind and the air is everywhere. You can't see those, but without air you wouldn't be able to live.

God sees and hears you wherever you are and whatever you do. He is always with you.

Not only is God everywhere, He also knows everything and can do anything! He is smarter than the cleverest person on earth, and more important than Kings, Queens, Presidents and Prime Ministers.

God made everything that you can see. He made the world that you live in, the birds, the trees. The sun and the moon. He made you.

Of all the things that God made, he said that making you was the best thing He ever made. He really did!

You are not just a body - you also have a spirit like God. It is inside your spirit that you can talk to and listen to God. After you die, you won't need your body anymore, and your spirit will live with God in Heaven - a wonderful place where everything is good and right, and where there is no more death or fighting or hatred.
